It is twenty to eight and you are already late. They want to do the buttons themselves. Their fingers can't do it yet, and when you reach over to help, that's when it really starts — the coat on the floor, the crying in the hallway, you doing it up over their shoulders while they twist away from you. You get out of the door having had a fight with a three-year-old about a coat.

This ships direct from the production partner who makes it. There is no warehouse sitting in the middle, which is the reason the board is priced the way it is — and also the reason it is slow. Processing takes 7–14 business days, then 10–20 business days in transit. Ordering today, plan on roughly three to seven weeks. Shipping is free.

That length of wait is worth thinking about honestly on this one, because the useful window is ages one to four. Seven weeks out of four years is nothing — but seven weeks added on at the far end of it is a board that arrives after they have already worked it out. If this is for a first or second birthday, count back seven weeks from the date. If it is for your own child and the mornings are already going badly, today is a better order date than next month, for the plain reason that the clock only starts when you press buy.

Questions people ask before ordering

My child is one. Is it safe?
Read this part properly rather than taking a yes. The board carries buttons, beads and buckles, which are small parts — so it is a supervised toy, not something to leave a one-year-old alone with, and especially not a child who still puts things in their mouth. Used sitting alongside them it is fine from around one; used unsupervised it is not the right toy at any age in that range.

Is it actually going to hold their attention, or is it another thing in the cupboard?
Honest answer: it holds attention in short bursts, not for an hour. Its value is that a toddler will come back to the same buckle a hundred times across months, not that it entertains them all afternoon. If you are buying it as an entertainment device for a long flight, expect ten to twenty minutes at a stretch.

Will it teach them to dress themselves?
It gives them practice at the specific motions — the pinch, the pull, the thread — away from the pressure of a real morning. When it clicks, and how fast, is down to the child. Anyone promising you a timeline on that is guessing.

Does it fold small enough for a bag?
It is a soft fabric board that folds flat and has a carry handle, so it goes into a changing bag or hand luggage rather than needing its own box.

How do I clean it after a plane tray table?
Wipe it with a damp cloth. There is nothing electronic inside.

Is it noisy?
No batteries, no sounds, no flashing lights — which is deliberate, and is usually the reason it survives in a house where the noisy toys quietly go missing.
